Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is looking for a passionate and proactive team member to join our Carer Support Unit (CSU) at Gosford Hospital In this pivotal role, you'll play a key part in empowering both carers and healthcare staff by developing, sourcing, and coordinating vital support and resources across the district.

 This is a dynamic opportunity to lead meaningful projects that improve access to services, build carer capability, and support CCLHD's own workforce-carers. Key Responsibilities

As the Carer Support Coordinator, you will:

  • Work as part of the CCLHD Carer Support Unit to develop, source, and deliver high-quality support, resources, and coordination to both CCLHD staff and carers
  • Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams and external NGO/community partners to strengthen carer engagement, access to services, and recognition across the district
  • Promote carer wellbeing and visibility by coordinating and delivering education, training, and consultation sessions with staff across health settings
  • Support the implementation of projects and initiatives that align with NSW Health’s strategic framework for carers, ensuring measurable and meaningful outcomes

 About You

We're looking for someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills, genuine empathy when engaging with patients and carers and ideally someone already working in a similar support-focused role.

You will also require:

  • Qualifications in Health relevant field, and maintenance of any relevant professional registration as applicable
  • Current unrestricted NSW Drivers licence
  • Working with Children and Age Care Check or willingness to obtain
  • A passion for advocacy, inclusion, and carer recognition
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in health, social services, education, or community development
  • Ability to manage projects and develop creative, evidence-based resources
  • Cultural awareness and a strong commitment to equity
