This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks’ notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.

Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) are seeking committed and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Intensive Care Unit—where each shift presents the chance to make a real impact by providing high-quality, patient-centred care to critically ill patients
About the Role
As a valued member of our Intensive Care Unit, you will deliver expert, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients requiring complex assessment, high-level monitoring, and intensive therapeutic interventions. Working in a dynamic and high-acuity environment, you will utilise advanced clinical skills to respond rapidly to changes in patient conditions, support life-saving treatments, and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
You will be responsible for comprehensive care planning, implementing evidence-based practices, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and excellence in critical care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, emotional resilience, and a commitment to maintaining best practices in intensive care nursing.

About You
- You are a Registered Nurse with current authority to practise with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- You bring recent clinical experience in critical care or a related specialty, along with a strong commitment to quality improvement, ongoing practice development, and evidence-based care.
- You’re a confident communicator, with well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and you’re comfortable using clinical information systems and digital tools to support safe, effective patient care.
