Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is looking for a motivated and experienced Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) Speciality Models of Care to lead and oversee operations within the Central Coast Community. In this key leadership role, you will support the coordination of Models of Care within CCLHD Maternity Services and provide direction for midwifery staff, ensuring exceptional standards of individualised women and family centred care aligned with CCLHD's strategic goals. CCLHD are proud to offer midwives an opportunity to work within the Community Midwives Team and Midwifery Group Practice, inclusive of a homebirth option with plans for further expansion of models in the future. 

As the clinical leader, you will hold responsibility for creating a safe, effective, and woman and family -centred environment within the Models of Care. You’re responsibilities will range from patient flow and staff performance to quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that care delivery is consistently efficient and compassionate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Oversight: Lead the day-to-day management of the Models of Care and assist to develop models of care for the future. 
  • Care Coordination: Ensure patient care is efficient and meets established standards, with a focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the health care environment, including financial management, patient flow, and resource utilization.
  • Staff Leadership: Provide direction and support for midwifery teams, fostering professional development and a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Enhance Models of Care: Build upon and refine the Models of Care, ensuring they are responsive to current and future patient needs.
  • Change Leadership: Lead and support change initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the service.
  • Patient Experience: Ensure that all women and families receive care that is compassionate, individualized, and aligned with their needs and preferences.

About You:

  • You have a current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Leadership experience in a clinical setting, within maternity services. In-depth knowledge of Models of Care and their application in service delivery.
  • Ability to effectively manage maternity teams, patient flow, safety, quality, and resources.
