Central Coast Local Health District is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health Inpatient team. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the recovery and wellbeing of individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

The successful applicant will be supported with day-to-day informal supervision from a senior Occupational Therapist, along with regular formal clinical supervision.

About the Role

As part of the Mental Health Inpatient Occupational Therapy team, you will:

  • Provide a high-quality clinical service to consumers and their families/carers.
  • Facilitate optimal functional outcomes through evidence-based, person-centred assessment and intervention.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to support recovery-focused interventions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of therapeutic programs tailored to individual and group needs.
  • Communicate with a broad range of stakeholders to facilitate collaborative care planning to advocate for consumer's support needs.

About You

  • You have current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board (AHPRA).
  • You have a current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel across sites within the CCLHD and a Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • You have advanced clinical skills and experience working as an Occupational Therapist, with an interest in conducting functional assessments and developing therapeutic care plans in a mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
