Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner ready to step into a specialty NP role where your advanced practice, leadership, and passion for haematology will truly matter? Central Coast Local Health District is excited to expand its commitment to excellence in haematology care by adding an additional nurse practitioner in haematology to its existing service. You’ll deliver autonomous, expert-level care, shape practice, and partner with a specialist team committed to excellence and patient-centred care.

This is a rare opportunity to further strengthen and evolve a growing nurse practitioner led haematology service. Your leadership, personality, and advanced practice skills will directly influence how this service evolves making a lasting impact for patients, families, and the specialty team.

Why this role is special

  • Be the nursing clinical lead in haematology, managing complex cases, prescribing, diagnostics, referrals, and care pathways.
  • Work closely with haematologists, pathology, oncology, and other specialty teams to ensure seamless, high-quality care.
  • Shape and grow this role establish scope, outcome indicators, protocols, and leadership shining in a specialty domain.
  • You will be based across Wyong and Gosford Hospitals.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct advanced assessments, diagnostics, prescribing, referrals and follow-up care in haematology settings.
  • Lead clinical practice development, education, and mentorship in haematology/oncology nursing and allied health teams.
  • Partner with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, patient-centred haematology care.
  • Use data and outcome metrics to drive quality improvement, evaluate NP practice, and refine models of care.
  • Be a clinical champion for innovation, evidence-based practice, and specialty best practice in haematology.
  • Focus on increasing haematology treatment options in the outpatient setting. Enhancing access and supporting patients to receive timely, high quality treatment.

About You

You bring:

  • Registered Nurse status with AHPRA, NMBA NP endorsement in relevant specialty.
  • Proven experience in haematology, oncology or related specialty managing complex blood disorders or cancer care.
  • Strong track record in advanced clinical judgment, autonomous practice, diagnosing, prescribing, referrals.
  • Leadership in quality improvement, clinical education, research or protocol development.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and influence skills to work across specialty teams (haematology, pathology, oncology, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel within district, work across settings, and adapt to evolving role.
