The purpose of the position is to provide high quality mental health and medical care to patients, to participate in research, audit and quality improvement initiatives as required.

- At least five years’ relevant postgraduate clinical experience in Psychiatry is essential. Other post graduate clinical experiences such as primary care is beneficial but not essential
- Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Evidence of a commitment to Primary Health Care and harm reduction philosophies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse client group, with the ability to respond constructively to reactive behaviours.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development.
- Evidence of ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including relevant computer skills
- Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice
