Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

What you'll be doing
Provide high quality clinical care to adult and paediatric plastic surgery patients under the supervision of specialist staff. Wollongong Hospital is a busy teaching hospital and the Plastic Surgery Senior Resident Medical Officer will, under supervision, undertake and assist emergency and non-emergency procedures including skin cancer surgery, microsurgery, maxillo-facial and the repair of soft tissue trauma.

Successful applicants to the role must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of their recruitment documentation. The applicant must be certified as compliant with Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases (nsw.gov.au) before employment can commence.

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  2. Minimum two years post graduate experience with previous experience in plastic Surgery
  3. Sufficient skills, knowledge and experience to practice as a safe and competent plastic surgery senior resident medical officer
  4. Teamwork and leadership skills
  5. Excellent time management and organisational skills
  6. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  7. Experience in Teaching both Undergraduate & Postgraduate Students
  8. Moderate Computer Skills
